These are the kinds of articles and essays that the Chinese people dig into, from taxi drivers and shopkeepers to CEOs, although it must be said too many of them are glued to the eye-candy of Douyin (China’s TikTok) and Xiaohongshu (Red Note).

Why Trump Tore into Europe

On January 21, 2026, at the Davos Forum, a stronghold of globalism, Trump let loose and spoke freely, contrasting the “great achievements” of the United States in the year since he took office with the failures of Europe, and ridiculing the White left with a deadened heart.
Old Trump’s speech is quite lengthy, but its core meaning is very concise. Excluding the embellishments, what he said is: Under the leadership of Biden, who stole the election, the U.S. economy is collapsing and morality is declining. Europe, which is in cahoots with Biden, is even more deeply harmed by globalist policies such as extreme environmentalism and welcoming refugees. His U.S. will abandon all hypocrisy and will no longer be dominated by any leftist theories. It will only take advantage without suffering losses, and those who comply with it will prosper, while those who oppose it will perish.
The remarks made by Old Trump have infuriated people of all ideologies, including those from the West, China, and the East. They believe that Western civilization has been ruined by this “fascist”, and this is a calamity for “civilization” in their eyes.
For example, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, a key figure of globalist White leftists, publicly lamented that “the old rules-based order is over and it’s not coming back.”.
Carney quoted the words of Czech White leftist Havel from that time – “Living in slogans” – to remind himself and European countries that the slogan of “common values” that had been upheld by the West for decades had collapsed. He said, “Friends, now is the time for companies and countries to take down their slogans. The era of ‘living in truth’ is upon us.”.
Carney said: What does it mean for a middle power to “live with the truth”? It means facing reality. Stop invoking the “rules-based international order”. This is a system of intensified great power competition, where the most powerful nation uses economic integration as a means of coercion to pursue its own interests. The old order is not coming back.
This Carney has served as the chairman of the Global Economic Meeting (GEM) and the Economic Advisory Council (ECC) of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS); the first vice-chairman of the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB); the governor of the Bank of England; the chairman of the Financial Stability Board (FSB); and the governor of the Bank of Canada. As the host of the Davos meeting said, he is a “typical representative of globalists”. The “globalism in economy, culture, and geopolitics” advocated by White leftists is the fundamental reason why Trump declared that “the biggest enemy is NATO and the EU”.
What Trump is tearing down is not just Europe, but the hypocritical West that has been built by White leftists over decades, which “lives in slogans”. The “slogan” referred to by Havel back then refers to Soviet propaganda ideology. The “slogan” that Trump is destroying, on the other hand, is the so-called “universal values” that emerged during the Enlightenment and dominated after the Cold War. This is precisely the old “slogan” that White leftists like Carney want to dismantle.
Carney woke up in despair and said, “Now is the time for businesses and countries to take down their slogans and ‘live in the truth’. The so-called ‘rules-based international order’ in the past was actually the ‘universal values-based’ that the yellow-White-leftists were obsessed with. This statement has officially become a laughingstock after this Davos.”.
In fact, Trump is merely adhering to common sense. In the mortal world, from vast galaxies and celestial bodies to tiny atoms and bacteria, all follow the law of the survival of the fittest. Fairness and justice can only exist relatively within the scope of a sovereign state.
However, Trump’s “common sense” is not our Chinese concept of “following nature”, but rather based on Western traditional religious thinking and the chaos of White leftist globalism, which are viewed as mortal enemies by both sides.
The Davos Forum, founded by Jewish tycoon Schwab, is a stronghold of globalism. Who would have thought that Trump would challenge globalism at this place? Even fewer would have imagined that globalism, which once seemed poised to unify the world and almost ushered in the “end of history,” would be so vulnerable.
The upcoming world is an era of tripartite confrontation among the three major powers, each fighting on their own; an era where NATO and the EU are increasingly declining and in disarray; an era where the so-called “middle powers” are temporarily at the table, but ultimately on the menu; an era where human civilization faces unprecedented challenges from new technologies.
