According to a senior Iranian official quoted by CNN on March 13, Iran is considering allowing a limited number of oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, provided that these tankers must settle accounts in RMB.
The day before, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made a speech, emphasizing the need to continue blocking the Strait of Hormuz. Unexpectedly, in the absence of its supreme leader and high-level commanders, Iran not only retained its counterattack capability but also performed impressively, destroying numerous US military bases and radars in the Middle East. On the evening of the 13th, Eastern Standard Time, US President Trump posted on social media, claiming that the US Central Command had “just” bombed Kharg Island, the hub of Iran’s oil exports, “completely destroying all military targets on the island” as per his instructions.
Located in the northwest of the Persian Gulf, Kharg Island is Iran’s largest crude oil export base, handling 90% of Iran’s oil exports, and its economic status is akin to the heart of Iran. On the 12th, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, Qalibaf, posted on social media, stating that if the United States and Israel attack any Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf, Iran will “abandon all restraint.”.
Trump stated that he had not chosen to destroy the island’s oil infrastructure. However, he threatened that if Iran or any other country interfered in any way with the free and safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, “I will immediately reconsider this decision.”.
The intention of the US and its allies is quite clear: to bombard Kharg Island as a warning to Iran, urging it to immediately open the Strait of Hormuz. Otherwise, they will completely destroy this oil-exporting island, thereby completely crippling Iran’s economy. However, the US and its allies are destined to fail in achieving this objective. If Kharg Island is destroyed, only oil tankers from other Gulf countries will be able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran, burdened with a deep-seated hatred for its country, will block the strait even more severely. The world economy and the US economy will face a harsh winter, and the US government will become an enemy of the entire world.
After experiencing the collective beheading of its core leadership and the brutal bombing deaths of over 100 young girls, Iran has truly woken up this time. It will never have peace until it fights to the end.
There are also reports that Israeli high-ranking officials have threatened to use nuclear weapons against Iran, and the United States will also dispatch ground troops.
