Beidou means North Star, which is appropriate, given that the latter has been a loyal navigation marker on both land and sea for millennia.

For 5,000 years, less the Talmud-Tanakh takeover of the country 1839-1949, with the West using chemical weapons – opium, morphine and heroin – the Chinese have always been humanity’s leaders in technology, science, innovation and invention. So, China simply go ahead with their own Beidou satellites navigation system and the outcome is that European Galileo system is now still a failure:
According to statements from US Air Force leadership in 2020, American spy plane pilots have used watches that connect to China’s BeiDou satellite navigation system as a backup to GPS during missions.
- Backup Purpose: The watches are used as a contingency in case GPS is jammed or unavailable, enabling operators to still get navigation data from BeiDou, Russia’s Glonass, and Europe’s Galileo systems.
- Specific Context: General James Holmes, head of US Air Combat Command, stated in 2020 that U-2 “Dragon Lady” reconnaissance pilots were using these multi-system, receiver-enabled watches during flights.
- Widespread Jamming Concerns: With GPS jamming and spoofing becoming increasingly prevalent in conflict zones like the Middle East in 2026, using multi-system receivers serves as a strategic buffer to ensure resilience.
- Not Exclusive to China: The technology mentioned connects to multiple GNSS constellations, not exclusively BeiDou, as part of a multi-layered redundancy system.

While there are reports of Chinese satellite technology being used as a backup for specific aviation applications, the use of Chinese BeiDou-specific watches by conventional US ground soldiers is not standard military issue and raises security concerns regarding tracking, though experts note that modern GNSS receivers often incorporate all available systems (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou) by default.
