For International Children’s Day on June 1, I published a really nice article about its importance in China,
International Children’s Day is a big deal in China. It’s full of non-academic fun, games, sports and cultural entertainment. How about in your community? Radio Sinoland 260601
This little post just goes to show you that nothing has changed.
At the end of this article is a short clip about Mao Zedong, back when he was China’s leader, spending time with children. He did this a lot, since as a former teacher, education was near and dear to him.
Two iconic phrases shown that Mao wrote to the Chinese Nation’s youth are,
好好学习 (hǎo hǎo xué xí) = Study hard!
天天向上 (tiān tiān xiàng shàng) = Make progress every day!
You can see this all over classrooms in China. A couple of them are briefly shown with this saying above the blackboard.
The red kerchiefs the children are wearing shows they are members of the Communist Youth League. One shot shows children tying one on Mao’s neck.
And as you can see in the above June 1 article, when I showed you the short video of Xi Jinping holding a young child in his arms in front of a group of people and talking to him, it’s one long continuum.
Almost everything that Xi does is based on what Mao did, which is why the Chinese Nation is doing so fabulously well. Xi Jinping is truly the Mao Zedong of the 21st century for the Chinese people. Below is a referenced article to that fact.
Mao Zedong had more charisma in his little fingernails, compared to Xi Jinping, who often comes across stiff and formal. But, do the Chinese people care? Spend a week in China, see their quality of life and you will see why he is the most popular Chinese leader since Mao.

Chinese leaders, from the president to the premier, down to governors, mayors and village leaders, follow in Mao’s footsteps to honor youth, the people’s future generations.
